Connection (2025)

I created a light installation for the Copenhagen Light Festival. Using hundreds of strings, I connected the branches of the central tree with the ground, creating an intriguing pattern of parallel lines, in contrast with the organic form of the branches. I added diagonals to connect the tree with surrounding trees, to draw the gaze of the public even more to the top of the tree. Making them connect with the tree, with nature. Adding more strings to create an intimate space in the rough industrial area where it is located. Accompanied by meditative music by the Samenhang-couple Rob Verheul and Jeff Hijlkema on the hang drum.
