Reflections

Besides sculptures and large site-specific installations, I create small poetic installations. In these “reflections,” I play with branches, roots, wires, and sometimes with light and shadow. Often small trees, for example, with wires containing seeds or glass crystals. An airy structure in a bell jar, wine glass, or picture frame. I bring nature indoors with them.

During a residency in Denmark, I was looking for a way to respond visually to climate change. Through experimentation, I arrived at the importance of balance in nature and between humans and nature. Using scrap wood from the furniture workshop where I stayed, I created a series of works about balance—using loose parts, sometimes combined with wires.
